Domain help

I want to just refund my domain I purchased of alisonrogerstyling.com so I can use that domain elsewhere. I have someone building my website and we can’t figure out how to access it. All I need is for that to be available again.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Cancelled domains are not released immediately and cancelling a domain means you give up ownership. You should only ever do that if you don’t want to use the domain any more. I would strongly recommend that instead of refunding, you let us restore your domain and help you map it to the provider where you want to use it instead.

Your domain should be released by next week, but I cannot guarantee that you’ll be able to register it somewhere else if you proceed with cancelling it. If you’re sure you’d rather wait than let us restore the domain, let me know and I can issue the refund for you.

I just couldn’t figure out how to get access to using it so if it can be restored then by all means let’s do that ! I’m just ready to use the domain I bought lol. So please do that and let me know how to use it so that the web builder can too. Thanks

  • Okay, I’ve restored your domain to your account.

With which hosting provider do you want to use the domain? You’ll need to get that provider’s name servers or IP address, and then you can use that to point the domain to their servers.

Move Your Domain to Another Host

Once you’ve owned the domain for 60 days you can transfer it to the other provider completely if you prefer.

Let me know if I can help with changing the name servers/adding the IP addresses.

I signed up for BlueHost – so you’re saying I can’t it won’t be available for me to use at bluehost until 60 days from now ??

  • You’ll need to get that provider’s name servers or IP address, and then you can use that to point the domain to their servers.

You can only transfer the domain registration to them after 60 days, but you can immediately point it to them using their name servers or IP addresses. Bluehost support will be able to provide those for you.
