DOMAIN HELP PLEASE

  I have used the domain lovelindamarie.com with my wordpress. Registered through wordpress.COM

  I am trying to use wordpress.ORG.

  I cancelled my site and domain with wordpress.COM.

  But its still redirecting the website to wordpress.COM when its been deleted! HELP

  Hey there,

  If you’re wanting to transfer your domain, you should never cancel it at your current host because once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

  You have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
