Domain is lost??

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

My custom domain ( http://engineeringpolitics.com ) expired on October 1st and I have not been able to try and renew until now. I paid $13 to renew using the old link, and it is still not allowing me to use it. It says there are DNS problems and I need to contact support. The other thing to note is when I go to engineeringpolitics.com it sends me to go daddy.

What are my next steps for getting engineeringpolitics.com back. And did I just waste $13? (and can I get that $13 back?)

Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Cheers,
    Steve Bitton

  • Unfortunately, it looks like the domain engineeringpolitics.com was re-registered by someone else through GoDaddy after it expired and the 18-day grace period elapsed.

You were able to renew the domain mappping portion, but not the registration itself. I’ve issued a $13 refund – it can take 1-2 weeks for the refund to be reflected on your account.

You can add a new domain to your site if you like, or you could try contacting the new domain owner to see if they’d be willing to sell it back. They chose a private registration so their contact details aren’t public, but you could try this forwarding email and see if it reaches them.

    Best of luck.
