Hey there,
I checked with our registrar and christianpichardo.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.
Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.
I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.

Thank you for your information. It was on auto renew so I do not know what happened there. Can I please get an authorization code to transfer the domain to godaddy. Its very hard to get in contact with wordpress for matters like this.
Or is there a possibility of having that late renewal fee waived. I have emails from wordpress saying:
“Your domain will renew automatically on such and such date, you don’t have to do anything”
So it was a surprise to me that I tried to go into my own website and it said it was cancelled. I’ve been a customer since 2015, just recently I’ve gotten the hang of the platform and I’m working on another site using you guys.
I hope something could be worked out promptly.

Also if the redemption period is 80 days and I believe I was told just yesterday by a rep at godaddy that it was expired around Nov, the means that in about 2-3 weeks the domain should be out of the redemption period.

I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore christianpichardo.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

I believe that proving that somehow your customer was wrong is a poor way of dealing with a complaint. I have worked in customer service with a similar setting at a big company. When a customer is changing their card number we ask if they want it back on autorenew. If it so happens that we did not ask, and their card used to be on autorenew so they assumed it would be back up then that is our fault and responsibility as service to the customer.
Yes ofcourse my intention was to reinstate the autorenew. But I’m am now in the process of transferring my domain to godaddy.
