Domain Issues

  I added a new domain beprosper.us in the domain section. I have three issues:

  1. When I type http://www.beprosper.us in the browser, it is redirected to http://beprosper.us. Can you update my primary domain address to http://www.beprosper.us? This will guarantee me that the site will be redirected to the right address.

  2. Why do I need to update the DNS information?

  3. After I click the link of a post, I get redirected to prosperousthinking.wordpress.com instead of a link having beprosper.us?

  1. We actually strip out the www. for convenience and http://www.beprosper.us/ will redirect to http://beprosper.us/

  www is an old protocol from back when everything was under a separate server. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

  These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

  2. I’m not sure, who’s asking you to change your DNS information?
