Domain mapping

We have been using the free plan with the domain mapping addon for the past 4-5 years. Seems like this just expired and we are trying to renew this but it keeps requiring us to add a paid annual plan. Is there a new policy the domain mapping is no longer available on the free plan?

  • Hey there @spokanefriends, actually we stopped offering domain mapping (now known as domain connection) as a standalone upgrade several years ago. Instead, paid plans now include domain connections for as many domains as you need.

Sites that had that upgrade already (like yours, purchased in 2016) were allowed to keep domain mapping as long as it was renewed. But your upgrade expired, and at this point not even staff can add that back in a way that would make the domain primary. You’ll need a paid hosting plan to host the domain. The paid plans help us cover our hosting costs and keep the free sites free.

Paid plans will also remove ads, and let you add in paid-only features, like taking donations on the site. I hope that helps somewhat.
