Domain mapping

    Good evening;

    Our nonprofit organization has used WordPress for some time now to help populate our website.

    I recently learned about the need to have a paid WordPress plan to allow the website to stay active.

    I have tried purchasing a plan, and have tried mapping our WordPress blog to the domain (dominicanaidsociety.com), but every time I try to create an account or map a domain, nothing happens.

    What am I doing wrong?

    What WordPress.com URL are you trying to map the domain to? The mapping subscription was purchased under someone else’s account – have you tried renewing it under that particular account yet?

    Until recently, you were able to renew an upgrade that was under your account ( I see that you have in the past), but now only the owner of the upgrade can.

    Thanks for checking in!

    I think what happened was this: years ago, when we started the website, its creation was facilitated by graduate students at Virginia Commonwealth University, and I think one of their accounts may have been used to set up the mapping subscription.

    Those students have since graduated, and I no longer have contact with them.

    How might you suggest moving the mapping subscription over to this account? Is there another way by which we can address this?

  • I take it you’re trying to map the custom domain to http://dominicanaidsociety.wordpress.com/? Once you confirm that is the URL you want to map to dominicanaidsociety.com, I’ll do the mapping on our end and send you a manual payment. I currently do not see it mapped under any other user’s account, so you should be able to do it yourself.

    However, if you’re aren’t able to, I’ll be happy to.
