Domain Mapping

There used to be a add on feature for blogs, to add a domain for something like $13 or $15 a year. When I tried to map a new domain, it is now adding a $99 fee for an upgraded account of some type. Is there a way to just add the domain without adding the $99 fee?

This website is for a small non-profit agency, and if there is way to get around the $99/year I would sincerely appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  • Domains are no longer available for purchase or mapping individually. They are included with the WordPress.com Personal, Premium, or Business plans:

This change has been made as we work to offer the best combination of value and performance for users while still offering a completely free product for those who do not wish to purchase any upgrades.

A great way to go if you are not interested in WordPress.com Premium is to look into setting up a self-hosted WordPress.org site through a hosting provider such as Bluehost, GoDaddy, or Pressable.

  • And just to clarify, the $37/yr WordPress.com Personal plan will do what you want. You do not require the $99/yr Premium plan.
