Domain Mapping

  I currently direct a Domain to my WordPress Blog which cost £10pa. This has expired and the charge to renew seems to be £85pa, is this correct? If so why the staggering increase?

  Hey there,

  In general, you can no longer register or map a domain individually with WordPress.com. Moving forward, domain subscriptions can be purchased as a part of one of our many plans here. This recent domains with plans only update was made as we continue to work diligently to provide the best WordPress.com experience for both users who choose to purchase a plan as well as those who choose the free plan.

  You were grandfathered in to pay only the £11 as long as you did not allow your upgrade to expire – which is what happened – hence the £85. However, I can provide the original price this time – just let me know and I’ll set it back up for you.
