Domain Mapping

  Hi, I mapped my domain last year and this year it has expired. Do I need to renew the domain with my original registrar and the re-map? And if so, will my content still be there or will I have to start my blog afresh?
  If I go to upgrade, will it upgrade my .com domain, the one I mapped last year, or will it upgrade the myblognamewordpress.com?

  Hi there,

  Yes, you will need to renew the register the domain with your domain host as well as renew mapping with us here at WordPress.com. Either way, your site will remain in tact – you will not lose any content on your site, but your site URL will revert to the WordPress.com URL if you do not renew the mapping.
