Domain mapping

    I currently have an active site hosted by another provider..the downfall is that the site is designed with one of their templates in Flash and we know Flash is old tech. My domain is registered with Register.com and I want to keep it with them which means I need to map it if I use WordPress.com. My question is this..if I purchase the required package here..and select the option to purchase mapping..is the mapping immediate or can I wait until I am done designing the site on here before I finalize mapping? I want to keep my current site active with the other provider until I finish designing it here. Any insight is greatly appreciated

    You can add the mapping and point the domain to us whenever you want. There is no need to do it immediately when you buy a plan with us, and you don’t even need to buy a plan immediately – you can even start building your site on our free plan until you’re ready to upgrade.
