  I have an existing domain. I want to keep it with the current hosting company. The pop up block said something about changes will be made to the domain DNS (domain name system)
  – what does that mean?

  Hi there, domain mapping is only relevant if you are looking to use your custom domain here on a WPcom website after upgrading your site here. Is that what you are trying to do? If so, which WPcom site is involved?
