  If I utilize the domain mapping option, will it visitors see ‘.wordpress.com’ at the end?

  Nope!

  If you set up domain mapping, your viewers will see whatever custom domain you choose.

  So, for example, if your site was yourgroovysite.wordpress.com and you wanted to set up domain mapping for yourgroovysite.com, then your visitors would see yourgroovysite.com when viewing your webpage.
