Domain Mapping

    Hello,

So, I want to switch my domain on my existing blog to a new one. I have purchased the domain mapping upgrade for the blog to map my current domain dekcuf.com. I want to change the site name to dekuf.com and therefore bought that domain but when I tried to map it to my blog it prompted me to purchase the domain mapping upgrade again.

Do I really have to purchase the domain mapping upgrade every time I want to ad a new domain? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Please let me know what can be done to resolve this issue.

    Thank you!

  • Hi Steve, it looks like you’ve already mapped the domain to your site correctly and I can see your WordPress.com site here: http://dekcuf.com/

Just let me know if you still needed help with anything.

    Hi,

First off, thanks for response and help, it’s very appreciated!

I understand that my blog is currently mapped to http://dekcuf.com. What I want to do is re-map my site to http://dekuf.com (the difference being the C is removed). I already own this domain and want to it (dekuf.com) as my primary domain. The issue I am having is that when I go to ad the new domain, wordpress prompts me to purchase domain mapping, which I was under the assumption that I had already purchased it in order to originally map my current address.

Since I have already purchased the mapping upgrade for this particular blog, shouldn’t I be able to switch the domain mapping without being charged a second time?

I hope this makes sense. I realize the domains are very similar which makes it a little confusing.

Please let me know if you need me to answer any more questions and what I should do to resolve this matter.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Ah – now I see what you mean. Sorry I missed that spelling difference earlier!

I’ve gone ahead and swapped your mapping upgrade from dekcuf.com to dekuf.com and set it as the primary domain. Feel free to enable auto-renewal under Store > My Upgrades:

Just let me know if I got it right this time. :-)
