Domain mapping
-
Hello!
I recently removed my domain, http://www.therealdurona.com from my blog, and am attempting to redirect it to a different blog. My problem is that whenever I type in my domain, it’s redirected to a wordpress.com page that says “therealdurona.wordpress.com doesn’t exist.”
Could you please address this issue for me, so that I have control over my domain again? Thank you so much!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Indeed, that is the same message I receive when clicking on therealdurona.com.
When I use the domain helper here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/ and enter therealdurona.com it shows that there is no domain mapping for that domain. That domain was registered at GoDaddy.
Domain mapping for connecting a WPcom website to an existing domain is a paid upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
What is the underlying WPcom URL that you are trying to link it to? Is it jessedurona.wordpress.com?
-
It was originally linked to jessedurona.wordpress.com, but I cancelled it. I actually don’t want it linked to anything right now, WP or otherwise.

As timethief pointed out, your name servers are still pointed to WordPress.com:
http://who.is/whois/therealdurona.com
In order to point your domain somewhere else, you’ll need to update your DNS settings with your new name servers. If you tell me your new webhost I can try to point you in the right direction.

What I’d like to do is have the domain redirect to my new site, jessedurona.com, which is a wordpress.org site.

Great! You can do that by changing your name servers as I said above.
Name servers are the piece that tells the internet what page to display when someone types in your domain. Since your name servers are still WordPress.com, people who visit your domain will see a WordPress.com error page, like you described.
It looks like your domain is registered with GoDaddy. Here are their directions for changing your name servers:
https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names
You’ll need to ask your new webhost what name servers you should be using now.
