domain mapping and account plans

Hello, i want to connect a university provided url wth wordpress. i need to do domain mapping (https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/) for which WPdemands an extra 17 us dollars annual but it seems like it is included in the premium plan which is 10.75 per month instead of the personal plan of 3.99. the personal plan seems to offer custom domains as well but not a specific one? it looks like it is either 17 per year+ 3.99 dollars per month or 10.75 dollars a month in total if well want to use the url university provided. is this correct? i’m trying to make sure i’m understanding right.

The WordPress.com Personal plan includes domain mapping. That is probably your best bet for what you are trying to do.
