Domain mapping and email

  Hi. I have an existing domain with 123-reg which I am looking to map across if I do a new site using WordPress What would happen to my email service which currently also uses 123-reg? Also I have been approached by a number of companies who have systems to help create WordPress sites and I am wondering whether to use them or do the site directly myself.

  I would do the site yourself. We have numerous documented resource pages plus an entire support staff that will help you along the way.

  The email can come along with the domain. No worries there. When the domain gets mapped we attempt to grab the current DNS records. Before changing the name servers over to WordPress.com, you’ll want to double check that they mail settings are correct.
