domain mapping payment
-
I am trying to figure out how to pay the $13 to renew my domain mapping for brooklynorchids.wordpress.com (it maps to my site bklynorchids.com).
I am not seeing anywhere in the Manage Purchases section of the dashboard how to do this. When I go to the Domains tab, it only lists my other website, sarahheiman.wordpress.com. Do I need to add brooklynorchids.wordpress.com as a new domain, even though it should already be set up in the system? I don’t want to mess up however it is currently set up (please note, I didn’t set it up myself and am not at all familiar with domain mapping).
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Please disregard the last line in my post above about the blog that I need help with – it’s my brooklynorchids blog that needs help!

Hi there,
I would be happy to assist you in renewing your subscription. However, the upgrade that was purchased is not associated with the account you contacted us from. Until recently, you were able to renew an upgrade that was under your account, but now only the owner of the upgrade can. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Then, I can look into renewing the subscription upgrade. However, you should be able to renew the domain if logged into the account that owns the upgrade.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi and thanks for getting back to me. Is there any way to do this not in a public forum?

I guess the issue that I’m having is that I’ve logged in to wordpress as the account that owns the upgrade, but when I click from the email that I received about renewing the domain mapping, it brings me to this account that I’m posting from. So I’m not sure what is going on.

Okay, I figured it out! I’ve logged in as my orchid blog and input my credit card info, but when I click renew subscription I get a red error message at the top right of the screen that says “This upgrade is not available for Jetpack site.” Do I need to uninstall Jetpack, submit my payment, and then reinstall it?
-
Correct, I went to that page – I just tried it again and got that same error message about Jetpack.
-
AH, I see that the nameservers are currently pointed to
ns1.bkwinery.com
ns2.bkwinery.com
ns1.bkwinery.combkwinery.com is a JetPack site which is why you are receiving the error.
Are you wanting to point the nameservers to WordPress.com site brooklynorchids.wordpress.com, the bklynorchids.com is connected to?
-
If so, you’ll need to log into the registrar that is hosting the domain and point the nameservers back to us:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comThen, try renewing the mapping again. Let me know if you have any trouble. Thanks!
-
I don’t have any idea how to do what you’re asking me to do – can you please give me instructions? I’m a very basic WordPress user. Thanks!

Mapping is the only thing that we are in charge of on this end. The domain is hosted elsewhere and we do not have access to that information;. You’ll need to contact your domain host and get help from them in regards to changing the nameservers.
Do you happen to know your domain host?
Whois Data is saying that it is NetWork Solutions.

That sounds right. I’ll ask the person who set this up for me. Thanks again for your help!
