Domain Mapping Question
-
I have a WIX site. Is it best to simply use domain mapping to port my site to Word Press or create a new website in Word Press?

Hi there,
There is an importer that you can use to import your Wix site over to WordPress.com:
Regarding your domain being currently hosted elsewhere, you have two options. You can either keep your domain where it is currently hosted and point the nameservers over to WordPress.com:

Mapping a domain to WordPress.com requires the purchase of a paid plan:
The other options is to transfer your domain over to WordPress.com so that both your site and domain are hosted here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
The domain has to be registered for at least 60 days for you to be able to transfer it. Otherwise, to use the domain, you’ll need to point the nameservers over to WordPress.com until the 60 days have been reached. You also must purchase a plan in order to use the domain with your site.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
