Domain Mapping Renew/Upgrade is a Continuous Fail

  • Unknown's avatar

Having been trying to pay for my domain mapping. One of two things happen: when I go the link in this message I get :
ellwangerbarry.org expired 9 days ago. Renew it now.
“You don’t have any upgrades yet. Try one of our plans.”

That is because every time I’ve tried to pay over the last nine days right at the time of payment I receive only:
“This blog is not subscribed to some of these products. Did you mean to purchase them?”

Which raises the frustration quota far over my threshhold.

    Please help!!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That site at http://www.studiomichaelino.com/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM and we cannot help you. It’s a wordpress.ORG install.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Here’s the link for the forum for the WordPress iphone app so you can post there and make our developers aware of your issue. http://iphone.forums.wordpress.org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

I know all of that already. It is ellwangerbarry.org not studiomichaelino.com that this request was about. Something in the system seems to have added ” The blog I need help with is http://www.studiomichaelino.com.” to my message as a help of some sort. That bit of help I didn’t need.

The software adds what bloggers do not provide and I do not see this URL ellwangerbarry.org posted above. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Thanks. I understand. Apparently the software thought

” when I go the link in this message I get :
ellwangerbarry.org expired 9 days ago. Renew it now.”
did not mention ellwangerbarry.org Hopefully that confusion is ended ;)

Also, it does seem curious that the software would automatically add a link to site not hosted at wordpress.com.

In fact, I am in the processing of moving ellwangerbarry.org to a hosted setup but I am not ready to pull the switch on the redirect so it must remain here a little while longer. I was working on that transfer when the domain remapping expired. Regardless, I am grateful for both the free sites I have created on wordpress.com and the several other hosted ones that benefit from the software. Might be quite a bit frustrated trying to push through this payment but WordPress still rocks.

    Hi Michael,

I’m very sorry for the trouble! Our team is trying to track down the cause of that error message to get that fixed up. In the meantime, I sent you an email with more details about how you can renew that domain mapping upgrade.

You’re welcome to reply directly to that email with any questions — please let me know if you don’t get that email from me.
