Domain Mapping Transfer

    Hi, I am using wordpress free plan, and registered a web domain with other service provider and it’s still under 60days lock period.
    If I upgrade my wordpress site to personal plan and chose Domain Mapping, am I still able to transfer my domain to WordPress after lock period? Am I still entitle to another one year free domain renewal with wordpress?

    Hi there,

    Yes you can “map” your domain any time, you do not need to wait the 60 days to connect via this option. This will allow you to use the custom address on your WordPress.com site, and then after the 60 days are up you can transfer at that time.

    Correct. You can use the free domain transfer credit included with our plan (all of our plans) at any time, so you do not have to use it at the time of purchase.

    When you transfer, the transfer fee is waived and we extend the expiry date by one year, so you basically get a free year of domain service with us (once it is transferred) and will not need to renew until the following year.
