    Hi there!

The upgrade you paid for is Domain Mapping. You still need to manage your domain yourself. In order for your WordPress.com site to appear when people visit your domain, you’ll need to change your name servers to the following:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

If you don’t know how to do this, you’ll need to contact your registrar for assistance.

Let me know if I can help further!

    Hi

I have no idea what that means.
The website was previously run by homestead.
Is it possible to fix? The site is disabled as I decided to move to WordPress rather than renew my prescription.
Would it have been better to choose a new domain name? And is it too late to so this?

You can always purchase a new domain by going to Store > My Domains and selecting Register a New Domain Name.

If you’d like to keep using your current domain, you’ll need to contact Homestead about changing your name servers. This might be a good place to start:

    Hi

Because that domain has been disabled I can’t access it to do those changes. What a pity.
If I need to go to the store to register a new domain, can I get a refund on the domain mapping I bought (without realizing it wouldn’t work).

    Hi

    Urgent help needed please!!!
I have contacted Homestead who have been very helpful and they have set things up on their side, they say you need to send me an email with a link that I can then enter the authorisation code to approve the transfer

    Hi there!

I’m sorry that I was unclear. WordPress.com does not accept incoming domain transfers. If you need to transfer your domain away from Homestead, you’ll need to choose a new domain registrar like Network Solutions or Tucows.

You can also just keep your domain at Homestead, and change the name servers. This means that you’ll still need to pay Homestead for your domain, and you’ll need to contact them to manage your DNS records.

If you purchase a new domain and no longer need the Domain Mapping upgrade you purchased, I’m more than happy to refund that purchase for you!
