  Good morning. Last week I signed the business plan with wordpress.com to design a website but I needed to cancel this plan because it was not what I wanted for my website. When I bought the business plan with you, I claimed the domain name amalameengroup.com. I cancelled this plan on Sunday and since then I have been trying to claim this domain name elsewhere but it still says its unavailable. How long will it take for the deletion process of this domain name from my previous account so that I can purchase it somewhere else? Thank you for your help and time

  Hi there!

  Newly created and canceled domains are usually released after 5 days (we do not control that). We could also restore the domain back to your site. Still, you’d need to pay for the registration (since your subscription was already refunded), and you’d only be able to map the domain to another site for the first 60 days (new domains can’t be transferred right away).

  That said, if you’re planning to use the domain with another service and you’re not in a hurry, I’d recommend waiting for the domain to be released.
