Domain name

Hi… I already have a domain with google. I want to create a website using your platform. However, I will like to use the domain name suggested by WordPress. Can I keep both domain names? Also if I switch domains, will it create the hassle of transferring all my communication files from one to another? What are possible solutions
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there,
However, I will like to use the domain name suggested by WordPress. Can I keep both domain names?
Are you referring to the free
.wordpress.comsubdomain that is suggested when you are creating your site? Or, are you referring to a suggested custom domain? Either way, yes, you can keep and use both domains for your site. In this instance, you will have both a primary and secondary domain. The secondary domain forwards to the primary domain whenever someone types it into the address bar.For more information on primary domains, please visit our support page here:

Also if I switch domains, will it create the hassle of transferring all my communication files from one to another? What are possible solutions
If I am understanding correctly, changing domains for a site will not affect the actual site content. Are you looking to transfer the domain you have with Google over to us? If so, you can follow the instructions here to do so:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
Otherwise, you can connect the domain from Google to your WordPress.com site by following the instructions on this support page:
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
You’ll then be able to use that domain in addition to the domain you created here if you chose to use both.
Hope that helps.
