Domain name
-
Hi,
I bought a domain name with word press, but I deleted my site as it was too complicated to keep up. And I have now changed to a different site provider. I am trying to get my domain name moved onto the new site I have created but it is saying it can’t be connected to the domain name I purchased here. Why is this?

I bought a domain name with word press,
1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?
5. When did the refund request and upgrade cancellation, or the domain expiration take place?I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. 5. It was on Tuesday 14th March 2017
Thank-you for your help!

Hi there,
I am trying to get my domain name moved onto the new site I have created but it is saying it can’t be connected to the domain name I purchased here.
You cancelled aikenclark.com a few days ago, which is why you are now unable to move the domain. If you want the domain back I can try to recover it but I will need to send you a payment request for the domain cost ($18).
If you are looking to move the domain to another registrar (away from WordPress.com), you will need to wait 60 days. This 60 day lock is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and cannot be waived.
Let me know if you have any questions.

But I didn’t get a refund for the money I spent on the site, so why have the domain name been taken away? Surely I should still have the name because I still have the membership?

Hi there,
You are outside the refund period for you plan, which is why you weren’t refunded when you cancelled it. However, this will cover the cost of restoring the domain — which I’ve done for you now. You don’t need to pay an additional $18 as I first thought.
I’ve sent an email to the email address on your WordPress.com account. I’ll follow up with you there about the next steps for transferring your domain. Please let me know if you don’t receive it.
Thanks!
