  I cancelled my account with a domain name, does anyone know how long it takes for the domain name to return back into the registry so I can re-purchase it?

  Hi there,

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.

  In this case the domain should be released by the weekend, but we cannot guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again with another provider, as anyone else will also be able to register it once it is released.
