  hey i got a domain name from godaddy earlier today. Should I transfer or buy domain map

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi waltjarisch,

  With mapping, the domain will remain registered GoDaddy. The process creates a connection between the domain and WordPress.com but it will still need to be renewed through GoDaddy each year:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Transferring the domain from GoDaddy to WordPress.com means it will be renewed through us each year (the site and domain can be managed from one account):

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  Newly registered domains are transfer locked for the first 60 days so domain mapping may be better in the short term.
