Hello !
I used WordPress.com to get the domain ‘whereisjulie.net’ but now i would like to have it by another provider but when i check the whois, it’s still owned by wordpress. How can i do ?

Hi Julie,
When your plan expired, your domain was parked. To be able to transfer it to another registrar you first need to renew it with us (cost is $18) and then transfer it away.
If you don’t want to renew it, you’ll need to wait for a year to be fully released and then register it somewhere else.

I just need to clarify some things as there has been some misinformation in this thread.
First, your domain is parked because it was cancelled. Our logs show you did this on 28 December 2018. Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.
The domain expired on 26 December, two days before you cancelled it. If you meant to renew it instead, let me know and I can restore the domain to your account. Then you can renew it normally from the Purchases page.
Or if you wish to transfer the domain somewhere else, we can restore the domain to your account and then you’ll be able to do that without first having to renew the domain at this point.
If you do decide to renew the domain, it will cost $18. That cost will only renew your domain, and will not add back any of the features from the Personal Plan which also expired in December. To add those features back you’ll need to buy a new Plan. Note that renewal of domains are no longer included in plans, so you’ll still need to pay the $18 renewal cost for the domain as well in that case.

I’m not sure what you mean here. WordPress.com belongs to us and you cannot use that domain for your site. If you don’t restore your domain, or if you restore the domain and transfer it away from us, your WordPress.com site will stay on the free address, whereisjulieblog.wordpress.com.
If you restore the domain and renew it, your site will go back to being on the domain, whereisjulie.net, as it was before the domain expired.

Ok i understand a bit more thank you. I should not have cancel the domain :-( ! So if it’s possible, I would like you to restore the domain to my account so that i can transfer it :-). I do not want to use my blog anymore, I just want to be able to use whereisjulie.net for something else.
