Domain Name
-
I was looking to buy a domain name yesterday and now it says it’s unavailable. I’m not sure if my going to the process made it unavailable but now I can’t seem to buy it. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you.

Hi there,
Can you please tell us the domain you were planning to buy? Searching for a domain does not make it unavailable, but it’s possible someone else bought the domain either with us or with another provider since you searched for it.

I can see it’s still available and is already in your shopping cart. Are you able to finish your checkout?
-
Are you sure?
I only see the domain I added with an extra ‘a’ = aavila.art but would prefer avila.art.

Oh, I see.
Can you go ahead and cancel the domain with the typo in it for now, while we run this past our domains team?
-
Ahhhh okay. Are you sure that yesterday when you searched you didn’t have the typo then?
We were able to find out why the domain can’t be registered here: it appears to be a premium name:
https://search.art.art/en?domain=avila.artIf you have questions, you’ll need to reach out to the .art registry via that link. Good luck!

Oh wow. I’m sure I didn’t have the typo then, but that was quick.
Well, thank you so much for finding it. I stick with the recent domain I just bought.
Thank you for your help!

Yeah, there can be some funny behavior around premium domains. They’re rare enough we hardly ever see these issues, but I’m glad one of our awesome colleagues had seen this issue enough to recognize it and point us in the right direction. So I’ll pass your thanks along to him, too. Cheers, @jehieli22!
