    I didn’t verify my email because I realized I needed to have a different domain name than the one I chose. Is there a way to simply cancel the domain name and choose a new one without canceling everything? I would also like to change my user/public display name.

    Hi there,

    Of what domain name are you speaking? The account you’re using to post here has never bought any domains from us.

    If you’re speaking of the free WordPress.com address, you can change that at any time, but you won’t be able to do that unless you’ve verified your account first.

    You can change both your username and your public display name from the account settings page, but that will also require that your account is verified first.
