  Right now I’m going through go daddy, so if I do the domain mapping for a WordPress site is it going to add a WordPress.com to my domain name?

  Hi there,

  The purpose of mapping a domain to WordPress.com is to remove the “wordpress.com” from a WordPress.com site’s URL.

  But you don’t even own a WordPress.com site with us yet. If you want to have a site with us, and use it with your GoDaddy domain, first you’ll have to create a new WordPress.com site, and then you can connect your GoDaddy domain to that site.
