  This is a great question. There’s actually 2 different options to connect that domain with WordPress.com.

  First, register a free site address. That anchors your domain in to WordPress.com.

  Then, read over these domain options.

  1. Mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  2. Transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  You will need to add a plan to your account as well. The personal plan is the most affordable option to get started with, and you can upgrade at any point if needed.
