    Hi there
    I am working out what to do. I want to build a new website with SEO tools and will eventually choose the business plan. My current web address is with Webcity and I don’t know if I should transfer the domain over to WordPress or do I leave it with Webcity. Ultimately I want it all tidied up so having it all at WordPress would be great! Any extra info would be great as I have no idea how to go about this.

    Hi there,

    Whether you transfer it to us or leave it at Webcity and just host it here is completely up to you.

    Personally I think transferring it here would be simpler, as that way you can manage your site and domain from the same place, but many people also prefer to keep the two separate.

    Either way, you don’t need to do that right away. All sites on WordPress.com get a free WordPress.com or .blog subdomain when the site is created, that functions just like any regular subdomain, and your site is fully online and accessible at that subdomain (provided you set it to public).

    So you can experiment and build your site at that free address, even upgrade the site while still using the free address, and only switch the domain over to us once you’re ready. Meanwhile your existing site will keep working while you work on creating the new one.
