  Hi, trying to change from my free plan to the minimum £4 month one (less 20% with *coupon*) with domain name fotomair.com but when I log in to pay it says I’m buying the existing temporary domain that you assigned?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there, all plans include a one-year custom domain registration or domain mapping for a domain you already own. After the first year, you’ll renew the domain separately to your upgrade plan.

  Hi there,

  fotomair214072589.wordpress.com is not a temporary domain. That is your site’s address on our servers, and will exist for as long as you own that site, and any upgrades, including domains, that you buy, will be for that site.

  If you want to use the domain, fotomair.com, you need to specifically register it, which is a separate process from upgrading to a plan. The support link provided above explains that process. When you do, that custom domain will be applied over your site’s free address, so the free address won’t be visible any more.
