    Which is better, transfer or map, if you already own one, but no website yet?

    Hi there,

    It’s really up to you. Either way, the domain will show your site in the end.

    If you create a new site with us and upgrade it to a plan, you can transfer the domain for free, and it will renew in the process, so you get an additional year on your current domain registration for free. And going forward you’ll renew your plan and domain in the same place.

    If you map, that’s also free with your plan, but your domain will only renew if you renew it at your current provider, and you’ll always have to renew the plan with us, and the domain with them. Their annual renewal cost of the domain might be lower than ours, though, but then again it might be more :)
