  Hi
  I cancelled my domain name mamazest.com on here as it was offered for free as part of m package on wordpress.org. why when I cancelled my domain anme on here will it not allo me to create it as a new domain on the wordpress.org account? it says the domain is not available but it should be as I have cancelled it and immediately tried to buy again for free.

  Hi there,

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. When you cancelled the domain there was a warning explaining this, asking you to confirm you understand before you would have been able to cancel the domain.

  In this specific case, mamazest.com should become available again by the middle of next week, at which point you’ll be able register it somewhere else. We have no way of manually releasing the domain sooner, as we don’t directly control this process.
