I just made a mistake by creating a new site with a purchased domain. What I wanted to do was upgrade my current site. I just cancelled that purchase immediately since I figured out my mistake. Now that domain I wanted is not available. Is there any way to get it back?

I’m guessing you’re speaking of compassionatetummies.com?
You have the option in your dashboard to move a domain from one site to another, and we can move upgrade plans between sites for you. But if you cancel a domain you give up ownership, and cancelled domains don’t become available again immediately.
In this case, it’s at least another two or three days before this domain will become available again, but at this point we can still restore it to your account as well.
Please go ahead and buy a plan again for the correct site where you want to use it. Let us know here once you’ve done that, and we can restore the domain to that site for you.

Unfortunately, the domain has now re-entered the public market.
We won’t be able to move it for you, but you can register it like a new domain yourself now following https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain/
