  I had a WordPress account but it was compromised a few years ago and I haven’t used it for a number of years.

  I now wish to rebuild my buisiness website using WordPress and the associated business domain name which I have owned for the past 16 years.

  Please advise me on how I can link the domain to my proposed new website.

  You will need the Domain Mapping upgrade to do that. Domain Mapping is included in all WordPress.com paid plans:
