  Purchased 2 years of a domain name and don’t know if mapping or transferring is best because it says it’s going to charge me in 1 year and I have already paid for 2???

  Hi!

  Functionally, it really makes no difference. Both work equally well and will send users to your site when they enter your domain into their browser.

  What it really comes down to is if you have opinions on the ease of keeping your site billing in one place (one bill from WordPress.com vs a bill from WordPress.com and a bill from your domain registrar). Or if you have a particular reason to want to use an external registrar (perhaps you have many domains and want to keep them all registered in the same place). As noted, transferring a domain does add one more year onto your registration. So that cost needs to be factored in.
