    Hello – I have an active site I manage for my church with another provider. I wanted to see if I could successfully build a basic site here first before I transfer the domain name. I left off on step 2 where your form wanted me to make a decision now. Is it possible to build the basic site first without transferring the domain?

    Hi there!

    Sure! When creating a new site, you can search for a .wordpress.com address to skip registering a domain right away. You can search for something like yourdesireddomain.wordpress.com by replacing yourdesireddomain with anything you want.

    Once your site is ready and your custom domain is configured, this WordPress.com address you choose will redirect to the custom domain, so don’t worry about it.
