  Hello,

  After I register a domain name, can I delete the old name completely and only use the new one, while still keeping my current content? I just paid for a domain name (thebeatgoesonline.com), and wish to use that name solely without keeping the old name (sixtiesmusicologist.wordpress.com). Is that possible?

  sixtiesmusicologist.wordpress.com is your permanent URL at WordPress.com. This allows your site to continue to exist even if you allow thebeatgoesonline.com to expire in the future. However, your visitors and followers will never see the sixtiesmusicologist.wordpress.com and will only ever see thebeatgoesonline.com. The only time you yourself will see sixtiesmusicologist.wordpress.com is when you are accessing your site’s dashboard.
