  I’m not sure of what domain name I want yet, can I start a website without one?

  Hi there!

  Sure! You can start with your desired plan at https://wordpress.com/pricing and when it asks you to search for a name, search for a .wordpress.com address and choose the address that ends in .wordpress.com – that will let you create a new site with just the WordPress.com address.

  When you’re ready for a custom domain (a paid plan is needed for using custom domains as primary), you can follow the instructions here to register a new domain.
