Domain name and transferring hosting.

    Hi,

I run a blog with the domain name “www.thedelicioustraveller.com”
When i log into the blog a message comes up saying:
‘Your subscription to thedelicioustraveller.com has expired or is about to expire.
    ‘thedelicioustraveller.com’ expires on November 23, 2013′

I want to keep the domain name but change my hosting since I’m helping a good friend out with some work (I had no problems with the hosting).
How do I go about changing hosting but keeping the domain name from your end? Do I have to pay for the renewal and then I can transfer hosting with new domain name?

    Thanks
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

If you want to change your hosting, you have two options:

You can either transfer your domain name to your new host so it’s registered there, or keep the domain registered with us and point it at your new host. Either way, you will need to renew the domain before its expiration date.

If you transfer the domain name to your new host before it expires, you won’t need to pay for the renewal here. If you want to keep the domain with us and just point it at your new host, you will need to renew it in order to keep using it with your new host.

We have more information about those two options here: Move your domain to another host

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
