Domain name change
-
Hi there,
We have a website that was created on the woocommerce platform. We have now built a new website using a different platform and have redirected the domain name to this. I do however need to access the old site. Could you advise how i find the old site now that the domain name has been changed to our new site?
Many thanks,
Chris -
Was the old site hosted with WordPress.com? Or was it built using the WordPress software and hosted with another web host (Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc)?

Hi there,
What is the site URL? I see a site under your account that is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack but is not a WordPress.com hosted site. Is that the site you are referring to?

Hi,
Yes that’s right we set up jetpack for the site. Is there anyway i can access that now? I have data on there that i need to transfer to my new site.

You will want to access the site directly by adding /wp-admin at the end of the URL. If that doesn’t work, contact your host.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
