Domain Name Change

Hello.
Yesterday I tried to change my domain name through my Dashboard>Settings>General shortly after that I found out that this name could be already taken, but I am not a 100% sure. Now my website is down and I don’t know how to fix it. I wanna know if the name really has been taken before me and can I change it into another one now and how?

The site veggained.com appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on BlueHost Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and BlueHost also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here.
