domain name hosting transfer

  i am confused about how to bring a domain name i have on another hosting to wordpress.

  the site was made on go daddy and hosting is with network solutions.

  my goal is to create a new webpage using wordpress.

  the domain is fscontentco.com

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  If you want to use that domain with a new WordPress.com site, first create the WordPress.com site and buy any of our paid plans – that is a requirement if you want to use your own domain.

  Next, if you want to transfer any content from the existing site, do that before changing anything about the domain. If you’re starting a brand new site you can ignore this step.

  When you’re ready to move your domain here, go to My Site ->Domains ->Add and select the option to use a domain you already own. Then you will have the option to either map the domain here (it stays registered with GoDaddy, but it will show your WordPress.com site), or you can transfer it here (the registration moves to us and you pay us for the domain’s renewal in future).
