Domain name issues.
-
Hi! I attempted a self-hosted blog, and then moved back to WordPress. I added the domain to the greyceiling.wordpress.com blog so it can be accessed via greyceiling.com. Occassionally, when I access http://www.greyceiling.com, the old header, and the last post (from October 2012) displays instead of my most recent content.
I tried to access the directory from BlueHost to delete the content from the old blog (I didn’t do that before adding greyceiling.com to the wordpress.com blog – I think I should have), but couldn’t do so. I’d like to delete the old content and make sure its properly connected to the greyceiling.wordpress.com blog.

Hi there – the reason you’re seeing intermittent things is that some of the name servers for your domain are set to Bluehost while others are set to WordPress.com:
ns1.bluehost.com
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.bluehost.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comIf you’d like to point your domain back to Bluehost so you can go in and delete your content, just remove the WordPress.com name servers for now. Then, after you’ve finished removing your content over at Bluehost, log back into your domain registrar control panel, remove the Bluehost name servers, and add back the WordPress.com ones. At that point you should be good to go.
If you need any help, just let me know!
