Domain name keeps pointing back to my old Word Press blog

  Hi,

  I was initially playing around with a blog through you and had purchased the Premium before I realised it didn’t do what I intended. I also registered a domain in that process which I’m still currently using.

  I’ve since purchased hosting elsewhere and updated the name servers to reflect that, and for -everyone else- who visits the site they don’t seem to have any issues (and I have no issues via mobile either).

  However, when I’m using my computer to try and log in to my admin panel via my domain name (paramountwow.com/wp-admin) it points me back to my old wordpress account details (or wants these to log in) rather than the ones stored locally and basically doesn’t show me a website at all – just a blank Word Press blog.

  I’m trying to understand what the problem is – is there an issue with the name servers failing to point to the right direction some times?

  I’ve tried clearing my history, no effect. I’ve tried a different browser which will work until I try and log in via the admin panel and then it will prevent me from viewing my site again.

  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated – thank you.

  Hi there,

  When did you make those name server changes? It can sometimes take up to 72 hours for domain changes like that to take full effect, and usually it takes longest on a computer where you visited the domain before the change — because your computer saves the old domain information in its DNS cache. (That’s different from the browser’s cache, so it can persist even if you switch browsers.)

  If it has been less than 72 hours since you made the change, you may just need to wait a bit longer for things to settle down. You can also try flushing your computer’s DNS cache if you’d like to try speeding up the process on your end.

  When I go to paramountwow.com/wp-admin it points to your new host, rather than your WordPress.com dashboard, so from my end everything looks correct. But if there’s anything more I can do to help, please let me know!
