Domain name re-directing in the wrong direction
-
Hi,
I am the webadmin for a site esphaarlem.nl. Our old site was hosted by dayana hosting server. Dayana are no longer in business and all websites will no longer be available after May 31st. I quickly made a new site using wordpress. haarlemesp.wordpress.com. I do not wish to use the contents of the old site at all.I followed the steps to map an existing domain, what I need is that
haarlemesp.wordpress.com is accessible by using esphaarlem.nl
I think I have done something incorrectly, as now if i go to haarlemesp.wordpress.com I am re-directed to esphaarlem.nl (the old site hosted by dayana). Can you advise me how best to do the re-direction. As I mentioned, we don’t need to old site at all but want the new site to be accessible using esphaarlem.nl.
Many thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
Olive Aylward.

Hi Olive,
I see that you linked your domain esphaarlem.nl to your WordPress.com site, so it’s almost there. The last step is to change your domain’s name servers so it’s using these WordPress.com name servers:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
That will point your domain to your WordPress.com site. You’ll need to make that change with your domain registrar — if you have any questions about making the change, they can help with that step.
We also have more details about the process here: Map an Existing Domain
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
