Domain Name Transfer

    Hi all.

    I am drafting a proposal to update an existing website. The owners of which own their domain.

    Part of the proposal is to leave the existing website active and online until the new one is completely ready to go live. Is there a way, with a premium wordpress plan, to build the website update under 1 domain, and then transfer the whole build to another, externally sourced domain at a later date?

    Hi there,

    All sites on WordPress.com get a free WordPress.com or .blog subdomain when the site is created, that functions just like any regular subdomain, and the site is fully online and accessible at that subdomain.

    So you can start building the site at that free address and even import any existing content. Then you can switch the domain over to us only once you’re ready to launch the new site.
